Alexandria Phelps is now an Executive Vice President at BerlinRosen. Prior to joining BerlinRosen she was the Director of Strategic Communications for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Communications Director for the U.S. Surgeon General, Dr.Vivek Murthy, at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) where she led the communications efforts during the COVID19 pandemic. She was also Deputy Chief-of-Staff in the Office of U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and Director of Surrogate and Media Affairs for Minority Leader Senator Charles Schumer. She is a 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential campaign alum and worked in the U.S. Department of State on HIV/AIDS at PEPFAR. Alex began her career outside of government at the Rockefeller Foundation and Clinton Foundation in New York City. Alex graduated from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA with a bachelor of arts in International Studies. Alex is from Missouri and now lives in Washington, DC with her husband Jason, daughter Olivia and pup Twylah.
